John Steele is a strategy and business development consultant with a strong track record of advising senior leaders in the healthcare industry. He has particular expertise regarding the development of growth strategies, development of provider alignment tactics, navigating government markets, and transforming traditional business models in an increasingly complex and changing healthcare landscape.
During his career, John’s work has spanned all market segments (National Accounts, Middle Market, Small Group, Individual, Medicare, Medicaid) to assist clients in achieving optimal performance through practical, actionable solutions. In addition to his work across insurance markets, John engages in integration and collaboration between health systems and payers to create new innovative care models. A frequent speaker at national conferences, John has written numerous articles on the impact of health reform and other current topics in the industry, and is often quoted in industry publications.
Prior to cofounding HealthScape, John began his consulting career at Arthur Andersen and was a Managing Director for Huron Consulting Group’s Pharmaceutical and Health Plan practice. John earned his MBA from the University of Chicago with a concentration in strategic management, and his bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
